Social Signals

Social media is not going away and in fact, Google takes into consideration, your activity on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and even on their own social network Google+. Google has confirmed that the more active you and your website visitors are on social media, the higher up the search engine rankings your website will go.
Social signals also affect human behaviour. The more social activity there is on a post, page or article the more activity you’re likely to get. Why? Well we are all just human and if we see that something is popular, we’re more likely to do the same and find out more about it. A web page that has high numbers of people interacting with you is absolutely proven to influence new visitors to stay on your page longer, read your content and ultimately taken action through opt-ins or sales.
Social signals also:
- increase page ‘stickiness’ – people will pay attention to your content if others have marked it as important
- increase conversion rate – social signals do increase sales
- increase opt-ins – helpful to grow your subscribers
- increased interaction – blogs are all about interaction
- increased visibility and search engine rankings – the more people see you, the better
